Fix 'Regedit disabled by Administrator'
Perhaps caused by a virus or by someone else, you may get a popup indicating that regedit was disabled. Here is how to fix that issue. (August 8, 2009)
Some viruses and other kinds of malware disables the regedit to avoid detection. It's hard to remove those nasty sofware without accesing the system registry. Here is how I did fix that.
First, I click the START button, then click RUN, the I type CMD at the RUN Window. On Windows Vista I click the START button and type CMD at the search input field.
Then, at the CMD window, I type: "reg add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /f"
And that's it! Now I'm able to edit the system registry and remove any virus, adware or any badware from the computer.
