As I had to drive Atlanta because personal reasons, I decided to visit Stone Mountain Park, so I started to drive. Stone Mountain Park is an Atlanta Georgia theme park that has become a favorite family vacation destination.

u-haul Moving? After 20 minutes, the truck in front of me was driving me crazy because it was asking me if I'm moving. I repeated "No, I'm going to visit stone mountain!"

Finally, I was almost there. The mountain is visible. The mountain, as the name indicates, is completely of stone. To be exact, Stone Mountain is a granite exfoliation dome.

Waiting entrance Looks like I was not the only one with the idea to visit that park. I found a long waiting line at the main entrance.

Sadly, I found that I need to pay $8.00 USD for the parking at the entrance, only cash accepted. I was so lucky because I had exactly $8.00 in cash. Not a penny more!

Stone MOuntain granite GA Getting close. For first time, I saw the carving on the mountain. The Memorial Carving depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War: Confederate President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Lt. General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.

At the entrance of the park, I found a map. If you look closely, I thik it says: "You are lost somewhere over here". (Just kidding... but I really was lost, the map doesn't help too much)

After looking the map and having no idea where to go, I decided to buy the ticket for the park. I paid $22.00 for one-day pass.

The first thing I saw at the park, was this amazing water clock, patented on ... I don't remember. The clock is only a century behind regarding the accuracy.

Not only the clock is powered by water, also you can find historical buildings powered by water. (A mill I guess)

The place is full of interesting shops. Here is a shop that sells glass products. This is a real blowing glass.

Here is a store that sells candles. Make your own candle!

Regardless the heat, lots of people having fun.

The train station and some stores.

This guy was looking something on the heaven. I was looking at the sky for almost 10 minutes but I was not able to find what he is watching. Also, He refused to speak to me.

Story time for kids! also jokes for tots! wow!

"Barrels of Fun". To be honest; If no one tells me what kind of fun they are talking about, I don't want to try it.

Around the park I found a lot of signs, Interesting signs. It says: "Maybe you be in heaven an hour before the devil know you died.", "The best way to convince a man that he's wrong is to let him have his way.", "May the faults of you neighbors be dim and their virtues glaring."

"Woman... She needs no eugology, she speaks for herself.", "May you never mummer without cause and never leave cause to mummer", "BIG apples are at the top of the basket because the little apple are keeping them up there!"

Are YOU a little apple?

A camp. Looks like lots of excersice.

"Stoney, the talking fountain" - I was not able to hear it as the time was 5:10. Next time maybe.

The mountain is 825 feet tall and covers 583 acres. The top of the mountain is 1,683 feet above sea level.

The entire carved surface of the Memorial Carving measures three acres, larger than a football field. The carving of the three men towers 400 feet above the ground, measures 90 by 190 feet, and is recessed 42 feet into the mountain. The deepest point of the carving is at Lee's elbow, which is 12 feet to the mountain's surface.

A detailed photo of the carving. As I said before, The Memorial Carving depicts three Confederate heroes of the Civil War: Confederate President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Lt. General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson.

A little history about the park and the mountain.
