Spark, Bang, Buzz and Other Good Stuff. Since long time ago, I visit this page to get inspiration about new ideas. The author creates "hi-tech" electronic parts with "homebrew" technology. You will be amazed by his homemade Cathode Ray Tube. He built an oscilloscope with it. You are not impressed yet? check his other projects:

  • Propane powered lawnmower - A simple and crude conversion of a lawnmower to run on propane.
  • Homemade wide range variable electrolytic capacitor and oscillator - A simple homemade wide range variable electrolytic capacitor using baking soda. YEAP! It works!
  • Very Simple Homemade Photocell - A very easy to make a simple photocell capable of deflecting a volt meter with a small flashlight or listening to audio from a sound modulated light beam. Can you believe it? hi-tech technology made at home.
  • Simple Arc Transmitter - An example of old Arc transmitters of the early period of wireless radio.
  • Simple Homemade Coherer - The coherer was one of the first detectors of radio signals ever used 100 years ago. He tried building one and he did.
  • Homemade Tunnel Diode and RF Oscillator - It is incredibly easy to make a homemade device that behaves similar to a tunnel diode.
  • Home Made Vacuum Triode - Before transistors were invented, all electronic equipment had vacuum tubes. This is how he built a vacuum triode.
  • "Permenant" Magnet Levitation. (he means 'permanent'), Homebuilt Refrigeration System from hardware store parts, How to throw staples & tacks & screws, Simple Static Electricity Generator, Sound Modulated Light Beam, Broadcast with magnetism and the impressive Wiremusic.
